FEAR
We fear the truth
For it is unpleasant on the ears
We fear not knowing the answers
to life’s complicated questions
We fear living in fear for the rest of our lives
But we do nothing to change it
We fear losing a significant other
But we do not do enough to make them stay
We fear the unknown
But scrimmage away from what is already known
We fear life and its unexpected challenges
But we fail to learn from other’s mistakes
We fear death
But have not lived
We fear losing our livelihood...

Deceptive hearts
Echoes of anxiety veneered
by religious beliefs cloud the mind;
broken dreams reaching out
to feel the depth of hope shout
in voices soiled by corrupted norms
of a society imprisoned by narratives
trying to shield the past from itself.
Mothers escorting daughters to schools
hoping to escape yokes, only to get
caught in the trap of outdated sermons
on uneducated religious chastity.

Feats of strength are mirages
on the pockmarked highways
of a nation stirring with unrequited lo...

PANDEMIC
PANDEMIC

Covid 19 astounded the world
IT STARTED with just a flu
China is the first
Ravaging like a bull
Many were scared
And also many were spared
Countries with wealth
Manage it effectively
Third World is not
 efficiently
Through logistics
And funds

Millions of death worldwide
A virus that will remain
In the books of history
Its like a common story

Many drugs been made
A trial and error basis
Imagine a drug for animals is used
A mebendazole is also being used
Many at...

Just Like Heaven
Under lilac purple skies you can be anyone
Twirling under waves of color and eyes that spark and flutter
There's no where else you'd rather be

The sounds of electric guitars flood the air
I stare and I stare at people walking with flare
It's a quarter to nine
I roll my head high
And wait to say hello to the angels

Our voices echo as loud as can be
Arms up high
Waiting for happiness to burst through the seams
it's just like heaven

Do You Have Room
My heart needs a permanent home; can I come in
Can you provide shelter? Can you, my lover and friend

My heart is homeless; I’m lost out here in this world all alone
Do you have room? Can our hearts join
and form a place called home

It’s raining in my world, and it’s extremely cold
Flames from our hearts can warm us as we grow old
Can I come in? I’m on my hands and knees
Do you have room? Will you take me in please

My heart and I need a permanent home
It’s raining and cold out he...

THE HERDSMEN AND THEIR CATTLE
Like the herdsmen and their cattle
So are you; your power and your position
The herdsmen tends and direct their cattle
The way they are to go

Like John Emerich of Napies said
"Power tends to corrupt and
absolute power corrupts absolutely"
Yes! Your power and your position
They drive you as a driver does with his car

We are the grasses under your feet
You feed on us and you release your waste on us
We are your strength
Yes! We give you strength
But does it matter?

There is no...

THE MODERATOR
THE DIGNIFIED MAN

HELLO YOU!
Hello you, she said to the seven-year-old image…in the mirror she saw

Her hair once long, now cropped short, easier to care for by her ma

She scrunched her nose up, let out a squeal, and then ran off to play

Precocious, inquisitive, and restless, her visit to the mirror was a short stay

Hello you, she said to her reflection, now a teenager, a bit awkward and shy

Now difficult to pass a mirror without looking, although many times she tried

Her figure, beginning to blossom, her y...

Moth
During the day
I meditate
on the holy verse
and nothing in this universe
seems to be able to get me drunk
for I think
I'm as good as a monk
Come the evening
without thinking
I start dancing
around an artificial street light
until deep into the night

Through My Humble Window

Not until I turned off the light inside
before hitting the pillow
did I notice the moonlight
shining through my humble window

Neo-Post-AD: Condemnation.
This ailing earth. Let's sleep on it. Should we sleep? Take our temperature? Keep a check on our sneezing? All screws are loose. Let's keep to the tracks on track.

Rack our brains for a modicum of sense. It's a sieve not grey matter. That horse has bolted; left us high and dry. Just a fold of sheep. Not a dog nor a shepherd. Just the grinning fool on the hill.

No palladium. No Pallas. The wilderness groans and retreats. We are powerless under the cruelest spell yet to be seen. The cast i...

I just want to feel again
Poem #2,682 I just want to feel again

Emotions pushed down into the pit of my stomach one to many times and so often, that now, when I try to care about anything, the ritual is more difficult than ever to perform. I was just so tired of allowing myself to be taken advantage of, that I built up high walls around me to protect myself. But at the same time I’ve developed stellar defenses around my heart, designed to keep others out, this same impenetrable force and barrier, has since its incepti...

THE SPIDER AND THE WEB
She watched the spider weave it’s web, an intricate work of art
Tirelessly he worked on his masterpiece, the moon his light after dark

Delicate was the web he weaved with such fervor and precision
No rest…continuing, through the night, an arachnoid on a mission

The light that was shed that starry night, gave the silky web a glow
Yet, it was invisible to it’s victims, the spider crafted as not to show

She pondered as she had watched, the scenario, a lesson akin to life
Perhaps it...

I am not ok
At night
Where there 's no light
No clear sight
I didn't feel right
I followed a think diet
Against nightmares and shout
***
In my ordinary bed
I slept like dead
But with eyes opened
Dreams fled
Nothing to be said
Only hopes in the head
Just the mind worked
***
I tried to sleep
I wanted to go deep
To live my self trip
A neck of a tulip
Dry throat and dry lip
***
I looked for some water
Feelings shatter
As if I live the rattle
***
Sure I am not okay
***
Again I tri...

Party in the USprAy
I’m kinda over all the prayers and condolences

For the longest we’ve been pausing for a moment of silence

Yet as a country we can’t come up with a solution to silence the violence

Laws are on the books but like leftovers they don’t get touched

Instead of getting touched by angels we’re getting touched by bullets

Adults and young teens alike fail at conflict resolution

What’s their solution?

Go grab a gun all they see is red so they lack resolution

And all I see is...

Translation
Comfortable is the arrogance
Of words lost in translation,
A culture obscured by confusion
This obsolete, mindless oblivion
worshipping imported insignificance

Neo-Post-AD: The unhappy couple.
There are no apparitions and the last word is earth; all quiet beneath a sky benign. Those obsidian eyes tempered by fiery belligerence. Brow proud as a hammered anvil. Heart fiercely vile. Vagrant words flung to hurt and harm. A lifelong sentence: exiled from sense and hope. Open the gate: let the wild dogs loose. Roam the bewitched night soaked to the marrow. Monomania grown long in the tooth, and, still, stillness comes in the wake of blind agitation.

Slender pale beauty chained to the har...

Future Vet
There’s a tear in my eye; I’ve faced death but did not die
I got up today without regret
I proudly donned my dark-blue beret
Serving this country with total respect
Bloodstained uniforms, half the country rejects
I can’t choose the cause, but I fight for a way
Freedom is my choice, my voice; I fight for your say
Freedom is everything but free
The tear in my eye is for those who can’t see
I don’t make policy; I don’t make beliefs
I don my beret to prevent future grief
I did not face th...

Live as You climb
Poem #2,681 Live as You climb

Stopping to smell the roses, seems to be such trivial advice to propose and to share, when bills are due, deadlines have to be met and everything, even love, most times, carrie’s a price tag. But at the same time a man must move to properly prepare; his bills, deadlines and expenditures will remain, whether he frowns constantly or uses the face muscles it requires, that he possesses, to create a smile. So stop and take the time to notice the joy in your life, jus...

Defining Moments
Defining Moments is a book about all of us. The everyday struggles we face to stay true to our beliefs, character, principals, values and ourselves. In the age of Covid 19 and shutdowns our beliefs and character have been tested. Should we practice our religious beliefs and go back to our churches, or should we obey the lockdowns? Should we take the Covid 19 vaccination shots, or should we stand firm within our beliefs of not getting vaccinated? Should we quit our jobs if the company we are work...

Blissful moments
The moment our eyes locked,
Emotions danced in our depth
Saying things words couldn’t convey,
The moment our lips touched,
Our mouths locked in breathless passion
our tongues duelled for control.
The hypnotic feel of your kiss,
A rhapsodic wonder.
Our body throbbed,
In sensual overload.

Your touch, hot and intense
Thawed the chill in my soul.
Stirred an insatiable hunger
Unleashed a feral need
l moaned for more.
This passion you ignited
Made my core slick,
Undulating, pul...
